Rheumatoid Arthritis
Rheumatoid Arthritis is a chronic, systemic, relapsing disease primarily of the joints. The long-term prognosis is poor, with 80% of affected patients being disabled after 20 years. This debilitating disease affects about 1% of the population in the U.S. and around the world. In the United States alone, this translates to a market size of roughly 2-3 million people.
Artielle has designed and manufactured an RA-specific RTL that is currently being tested at Oregon Health & Science University and by a collaborator at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Memphis. Preliminary data suggest that we have successfully developed a new RTL effective in a mouse model of rheumatoid arthritis.
